Beyond difference-in-differences: Advancements in non-experimental programme evaluation methods

Dr Stephen O’Neill will be running a half day pre-conference training course on the latest advancements in non-experimental programme evaluation methodology. The strengths and weaknesses of difference-in-differences will be discussed. The course will focus on training in the latest methodological developments in causal inference, including differences-in-differences with staggered adoption and applications of synthetic control methods. This will be a practical Stata-based training course. In addition to an introduction to the econometric methodology, attendees will be taken through a practical example using simulated data. Stata codes will be provided and attendees will leave the course with the skills and material necessary to implement this method in their own research.

This training course is subsidised by EuHEA and is therefore just 40 euros per person. The course is limited to 30 places which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. As this is a practical Stata-based training course, all attendees will need to bring a laptop with Stata installed.

Time and date: 9:30-13h Wednesday 4th September
